Using Probabilistic-Risky Programming Models in Identifying Optimized Pattern of Cultivation under Risk Conditions (Case Study: Shoshtar Region)
Using Telser and Kataoka models of probabilistic-risky mathematical programming, the present research is to determine the optimized pattern of cultivating the agricultural products of Shoshtar region under risky conditions. In order to consider the risk in the mentioned models, time period of agricultural years 1996-1997 till 2004-2005 was taken into account. Results from Telser and Kataoka mod...
متن کاملProbabilistic models of language processing and acquisition.
Probabilistic methods are providing new explanatory approaches to fundamental cognitive science questions of how humans structure, process and acquire language. This review examines probabilistic models defined over traditional symbolic structures. Language comprehension and production involve probabilistic inference in such models; and acquisition involves choosing the best model, given innate...
متن کاملSymbolic models of human sentence processing
We take “symbolic models of sentence processing” to mean approaches in which processing is characterized in terms of relatively discrete, combinatorial representations. We survey the distinct approaches: Grammar-based, automataand informationtheoretic, those involving complexity metrics and principles, cognitive architecturebased, and probabilistic models. An example is provided of each approac...
متن کاملA linear process-algebraic format with data for probabilistic automata
This paper presents a novel linear process-algebraic format for probabilistic automata. The key ingredient is a symbolic transformation of probabilistic process algebra terms that incorporate data into this linear format while preserving strong probabilistic bisimulation. This generalises similar techniques for traditional process algebras with data, and — more importantly — treats data and dat...
متن کاملProbability, programs, and the mind: Building structured Bayesian models of cognition
Human thought is remarkably flexible: we can think about infinitely many different situations despite uncertainty and novelty. Probabilistic models of cognition (Chater, Tenenbaum, & Yuille, 2006) have been successful at explaining a wide variety of learning and reasoning under uncertainty. They have borrowed tools from statistics and machine learning to explain phenomena from perception (Yuill...
